This post will be a little different from others since I’m sitting in a hotel in LA at the moment. My trip to AnimeExpo has been going well despite being stressful, but I got a chance of a lifetime. Luckily before I left I was able to pick up Pangya for the PSP, and as such took it with me on my trip. If you haven’t gotten a translated version, I would suggest doing so now because I just so happened to get an interview with Mike Jones who was the lead producer on Pangya. The Tomy booth is at AnimeExpo, and today I interviewed them in my Arin PSP cosplay. Yes, that’s news too and I got many pictures to show it off.

I can’t say exactly when to expect all this, but within the next week stay glued because there is some interesting things I found out about Pangya and the localization behind it. I’m very pleased to get this chance as a fan, and in collaboration with 91.8 The Fan we will be posting this interview as soon as the footage is ready to go. I can’t wait to post this up!

A new update has finally come from the US server, but in all honesty it leaves me baffled in many ways. In many ways the update itself seems like a huge plus considering they finally added Tiki Scrolls, which allow people to leave tournaments early if they finish before the time limit. In turn, the ability to join a tournament that has already started has also been added since the two features compliment each other. However I think the biggest kick to the shins is the Pangya PSP outfits. Instead of being a monstrous occasion it feels like an insult! (more…)

Korea has a new update involving the maid outfits previously released in the Japanese server. Curiously, the Japanese server received only a few of the outfits in their version of the eCard system while in Korea they received all of the outfits of this set. However, the male characters are the only ones available by eCard while all the female outfits can be bought with Cookies in the shop. It’s a little curious yet I suspect this is in an effort to catch up with Japan considering they’ve gotten a little farther ahead. There is also three new pang outfits for Lucia, Kaz, and Kooh. The Kooh outfit we’ve seen before from the Season 4 Trailer, but the others seem fairly new. Pictures after the jump! (more…)

A recent update on the Japanese Pangya site leads us to a new page that has Crypton slapped together with Pangya once more. The page itself features the newest character released for Vocaloid 2 on January 30th, 2009, and Yu Asakwawa was the woman who provided vocal samples for Megurine Luka. The song that plays in the background of the page is called Nowhere, which has a spiffy remix. I remember this song fondly as we use to edit it into the Into The Rough podcasts quite a lot. It’s a little difficult to tell which character they will be applying this set to, but it appears to be <strike>either Lucia or</strike> Arin at this point though I can only guess. Whether they bring back the other Vocaloid costumes will probably have to remain unknown until the update (or until someone who can read Japanese can spread the word). (more…)

Due to this it has been difficult to do so, and update the site as I normally should. Though you will see more updates soon, and I apologize for the slow two weeks. Since I can’t make heads or tails of Japanese writing, I’m aware that there is an event going on here. It appears, though I could be wrong, you’re collecting Gold and Silver medals for prizes. Though the picture listed above makes me believe that they’ll release Cecilia’s motion item next. I recall Korea releasing the item 10/14/08, and usually Japan is always right behind them… hrmmm. Either way the image is a cut out mimic of the original posted on the Korea notice boards in game.

This is rather interesting news considering all the transitions that have happened in the Pangya world as of late. As all of you know, Korean Pangya was originally published by Hanbitsoft and then recently taken over by Ntreev completely. Hanbitsoft was also involved in the European Pangya as well; however, it was recently announced that now European Pangya will go straight through Ntreev… thus, cutting their ties with Hanbitsoft. I heard awhile back that Hanbitsoft was struggling somewhat, but considering the monster good job they do with Japanese Pangya, it’s a little difficult to see that. (more…)

I saw this notice in the Japanese newsletter for Pangya, but I solely assumed it was only for the posters for your PAD Room. However, it appears that the outfits in said posters are actually a group of rares that can be won. When you receive an outfit, you get the corresponding posters which you can set up in your room. The outfits themselves are rather pretty, and they seem specifically aimed at the sex appeal each character can give.
