Mr. eCard in itself is a common point of discussion focused on far too much. So it’s a surprise nothing has been done to solve the problems concerning it. While it’s true that a few GMs have confirmed they are working on it, it still doesn’t help the problem now. While part of this is a lack of patience, and another aspect could be the Ntreev contract that binds OGPlanet, it’s almost insane when I look over all the complaints scattered across the internet. In fact, right now I have thirteen different pages that either touch upon the subject or attempt to go against it in someway.
I will be fully honest with everyone here. I don’t believe a flat out boycott will bear much fruit because of all the people that say they’re done there are more who wish to try one last time. There was one attempt at a boycott located here which not only failed due to OGPlanet hiding the thread, but the few replies it got actually said the idea itself was ridiculous (though it was a good starting argument). Mr. eCard is very similar to a gambling addiction, which I would like to note I know quite a bit about living in Sin City itself, and naturally when given the promise to win people will keep trying. It’s similar to how every week I get about five to ten contests my mom found off the back of a cereal box that she wants me to enter for her because there is the chance to win. The hope of winning will make people throw out a ton of money.
As posted here, we’ve displayed three active players including myself and how much they spent in total on Mr. eCard. I encourage you all to do the same by signing into the OGPlanet site and clicking the Astro number below Welcome Back -insert username- to see exactly what you’ve spent Astros on. Either way, the numbers themselves were ridiculous. I’m actually curious what other players have spent on eCards just for the fact of knowing. However, we have willingly thrown this money towards OGPlanet/Ntreev’s feet. We acknowledged what we were paying for, we knew there was a risk, and we did so willingly. There should be no complaints for a refund because that plainly won’t work either.
Very basically, bitching and moaning is all we can do. The following places have done so, including my previous entries on eCards. Into The Rough’s first podcast was on eCards because it is such a heated topic in the Albatross 18 world. Without looking very deeply, I can find four topics on the OGPlanet forums that discuss the fairness of Mr. eCard as a system which you can find here, here, here, and here. To be honest I’m sure there’s more of them located on the forums. I’m also sure there’s been more of a debate in other places as well.
The reason for gathering all these resources together is actually in an attempt to benefit the argument in the player’s favor. To be truly honest I don’t expect a change with eCards unless OGPlanet decides they don’t want to renew their license, and Albatross 18 is sold to another company or NtreevUSA takes over.
Now another reason for this post is because I would like to willingly promote the following petition which you can find here which was brought to my attention by a user named Blacky. My own guild attempted this yet due to the size of the guild itself, we never did get enough signatures to make a difference. However, I believe a petition is the only way to get enough publicity to rightly make some sort of stand. As I’ve said, I honestly don’t think any boycotts will work nor will the concept of a refund. So I encourage many of you to pass this petition around, word of mouth is probably the only way Pangya players can communicate. I get a decent handful of hits that makes generally what I say actually become heard, so I’m hoping that you all hear this and decide to sign it yourselves. While we will never know if it will work for sure, we won’t know until we try. If things don’t change, we’ll just have more links and pages of complaints, simple as that.
In my opinion I would like to see this addressed by any representative of OGPlanet. It seems to me they have avoided the issue long enough despite giving us awesome updates and a nice schedule. I actually really love OGPlanet from a personal view, but from a player stand point my adoration become mangled when I realize there can be changes despite the bindings of the Ntreev contract. So, what would OGPlanet’s reply be?

It would indeed be good to get a response from OGP, no matter what kind. It’s a big issue, and I haven’t spent anything on eCards in the last 2 months because it doesn’t seem worth it. I’m signging the petition, hope things will change.

I’ve been following ur site closely kana (sry, I’m just too lazy to comment normally >.<) - but I felt I had to comment on this post as I 100% agree with everything you’ve been saying - I really feel the current situation is rediculous and something should be done…

Haha sorry but I boycott Mr. Ecard the moment the implemented it. I tried it like twice and kept getting the stupidass power calipuers so I just gave up. (This was back during that mahou shoujo club set) You’re aboslutely right, it’s a lottery, but frankly I don’t feel that it’s one worth spending money for. I love Pangya like the next person, but I don’t feel that I can’t enjoy it without the Mr. Ecard items.

I’m a bit lazy to do the exact math… Rather, I keep getting lost when I’m adding it up and end up missing a bunch of 200 astros, or something.
If anyone feels up to it, I’d love to hear the amount 8D Mind you I have 42 tickets left over since I got all the ears. All of these were spent on the ear one. Nothing else.

Anyone know the giant trashbag’s stats for the black one? I’m praying it adds +10 spin…but I doubt it will T-T Atleast this way OGplanet sucks less out of me because I’d spend $300 for the regular one >_>;
I can’t boycott it…because I needed these dang ears despite me not liking them so I can get a higher pangya rate. However, it’s a bit ridiculous at how low the rates are…I mean, they can at least enable the trading…

I only got 3 I didn’t try to get all the ones I want, cause I know I will spend alot. (I spend $100+ for Elfen Ears)
Normally I have to get all the characters’ I want, but all Elfen Ears together is too hard to get.
Big Papel only need to get one, and the colors can be changed, using some of the rubbish the eCard gave us. This is something that might be easier to get and still worth it. Only need to get one..

I calculated that I’ve spent 3180 Astros roughly equivalent to $150 on the e-card system.
I got the Air Knight 3’s after 1370 (my favorite item so I guess it was worth it)
And I spent the remaining 1810 on the Elfen Ears…and got 3, although they were for characters that I don’t use.
Enable trading please =[ Or at least enable trading for the items that have been phased out of the system?! At least that way OGplanet doesn’t lose profit unless they feel like recycling the old rares.
